Communication Terms

Affirmative - yes/correct
All stations - General call to all stations on a network
Cancel – Ignore the previous instruction or request
Clear – End of last transmission, no reply expected
Clear to you - End of the current transmission to that unit, will now transmit to another unit
Confirm – Verify this statement
Copied – Message received and understood
Correction – Incorrect message, the correct message is ….
Disregard – Ignore the previous statement or information
ETA – Estimated Time of Arrival
ETD – Estimated Time of Departure
Incident Call – Report of a new incident
Go Ahead – Permission to transmit or reply
Grid – Map grid references to follow
I Say Again – Repeating the last transmission
Negative – No/ Incorrect/ Permission not granted
Nothing Heard – No reply to transmission received
Over – Transmission is over, a reply may be transmitted
Read Back – Repeat all or part to confirm the last message OR repeat back the key points of the last message that has been sent
Roger – Message received and understood
Say Again – Repeat all or part of the last transmission
SitRep – Situation report to be transmitted
Stand By- wait to be requested to respond, will transmit when ready
Understood – Message understood
RT – Radio Transmitter
MDT - Mobile Data Terminal

Sydney Comms - Serves the Sydney Metro Area- MN,ME,MS,WE
Katoomba Comms - Serves Regional West Area
Woolongong Comms - Serves Regional South Area
Newcastle Comms - Serves Regional North Area
