Hi All,

Time for a Sydney fire site update.

As you all may have been aware, I have not been around a lot in the last few months, this was due to my large commitment with the running of the 2010 Scout jamboree. As this is now complete, I have the time once again to start updating this site, with that in mind I am still currently looking for ideas for thinks to add to the site to continue to increase its overall appeal. I am at present trying to get together the following information and if anyone has up to date info they are willing to share with every one drop me an email.

At present I have now added the following information to the site.

RFS PMR Frequencies
GRN Control Channel information

If you see any errors please do not hesitate to contact me. I am still looking to add the following:-

GRN zone 2 and 3
GRN Site Information
Personal Photos of RFS Appliances for Appliance page use
Any Digital fire channel information
Ambulance GRN Talk groups
St John’s Frequency information

If anyone has any ideas outside the above, please let me know.

I am looking for people who are interested in assisting with the moderation of the forums; if you are interested please drop me a line at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

  • Christiaan Z : sorry m8 haent got the foggiest
  • Daniel : any rural brigades purchased a floating pump im place or addition to standard secondary pump? or anyone used them, are they as useful as it would seem they could be?
  • Daniel : yeah ill do VF whenever it comes up in '11
  • Christiaan Z : i plan on doing vf then ba in the next 2 yrs, been quald sinve spetember
  • Daniel : yeah, with that many in the brigade i guess you have plenty with higher quals
  • Chris : ill probably just stay bf until people require more of me
  • Daniel : my captain put me up for AF in august, not sure im really ready, but i think he wants to push me through CL to be honest, much as im iffy on it
  • Daniel : fair enough, i reckon too many people go for more advanced qual's too quick anyway
  • Chris : im only BF... i havnt got around to doing any of the other stuff yet
  • Daniel : (: what qualifications you done?
  • Chris : ive been active for about nearly a year now
  • Daniel : so ive been involved with it for about that long on and off
  • Daniel : old man's been a member for... 8?? years or so
  • Daniel : um been an active member for 18-24mths
  • Daniel : insults are all part of the game, good tension killers
  • Chris : how long you been with your brigade?
  • Chris : hes pretty good... we insult eachother alot... massive bitch fights infront of everyone.... but we get along well :) haha
  • Daniel : as long as it all works out i suppose :)
  • Daniel : ah kk, nice :)
  • Chris : one of the deputy captains pretty much runs everything
  • Chris : yeah hes good at planning though haha
  • Daniel : still nice to have people like that around you when it all goes to shit
  • Daniel : ah, yeah, i spose that makes him a bit more exempt from the end of a hose
  • Chris : well he is 70 something.... hes the brains haha
  • Daniel : ah, see we wouldnt wear that, captain gets dirty as well, but when they whole brigade is about 20 people, i guess that changes things
  • Chris : our capt just dirves around making sure veryones ok and giving them water
  • Chris : hahaha yeah
  • Daniel : mmm, thats why i like our captain / senior dep combo, the captain goes away and talks and talks, and the senior depp just goes and gets started :)
  • Chris : yeah we dont USUALLY have that problem but there is the odd occasion where that has happened.... we just go there, get the job done, make sure its safely out and then go home.
  • Daniel : ah yeah, fair enough, im not much one for enjoying standing around at HR's though, we get bitched at frequently because we have a tendancy to be the first ones to light up, everything gets run safely, but this tendancy of some to stand around and waste half the morning chatting frustrates me
