Sydney Fire Update

Hi All,

Time for a Sydney fire site update.

There have been some improvements lately to the stream with the completion of the UPS integration into the Fire stream system; this will know enable the stream to stay online in the event of a power disruption. This was a bigger task then originally thought due to a variety of reasons and also due to a lack of time too recently. I hope you enjoy the better up time of the stream going forward.

Some other added bonuses lately have been the inclusion of Smartphone ability with the site, both the forum and the stream can now be accessed using a compatible smart phone, at present this includes iPhones and Android based phones.

The Forum can be accessed using Tapatalk, there is a small once only fee for the App (non of which I see Cry) if you wish to post, there is also a free version which allows you to view the forum only. The other inclusion, the fire stream can be access by the radio reference App “Scanner radio”, The stream can be found by location Australia-NSW-Sydney Surrounds-Sydney Fire.

  • Alan : Jason. Railcorp is on GRN. You do not 'block frequencies' on GRN, you block unwanted Talkgroups. If you block a frequency you'll lose other users too.

  • tom : hvy hazmat rolling lights/siren down pennathills rd?
  • Jason : Oops may be the wrong freq

  • Mike : sorry but scanner will remain off line untill sunday morning due to issues with the reprogramming
  • Mike : Hi All, the streams are currently down till tomorrow (sat) due to the scanner being replaced, should be back up within 24hours.

  • Darryl Schlo : stream gone again
  • Christiaan Z : ok but what happened to the days when 86, 102, regentville rfs, orchard hills rfs and mulgoa rfs got activated at the same time because of the type of facility it is?
  • Andy : Because the place is so close to 86 & 102, more often than not, they get there and stand the RFS down because they get there
  • Andy : Yes the facility is in RFS area, but due to the nature of the facility, FRNSW are required to respond
